Red, White and Tahoe Blue Parade

Incline Elementary School has been invited to participate in the Red, white and Tahoe blue parade scheduled for July 7, 2012.
In order for IES to enter the parade we will need someone to organize the event for IES. If you would like to volunteer to put together IES’s entry for the parade please contact Pauline at tahoetrini@hotmail.com.
This years theme is Go Team USA!

Grade 5 Promotion – Help Wanted

We are looking for parents in either grade 3 or 4 to help serve cake after the grade 5 promotion ceremony. The ceremony is on Tuesday June 12 at 2pm. The refreshments will be served about 2:30pm.

East Shore Express – Open House

Bring your family and join us on Wednesday, May 16, from 5:30 – 7:00PM at the Incline Village Library for a Tahoe Transportation District informational open house for the upcoming East Shore Express bus to Sand Harbor and the improvements planned for the Highway 28 corridor.

What is East Shore Express?

•A Park and Ride transit pilot program to provide safe, convenient alternative access to Sand Harbor from Incline Village addressing the most severely congested area within the Nevada State Route 28 Corridor (SR 28).
•Developed in response to Incline Village community and Safety Officials’ concerns about traffic congestion bicyclist and pedestrian safety, as well as overall concerns of protecting the recreational and environmental assets along SR 28, the National Scenic Byway of “America’s Most Beautiful Drive”, shared by many local, state, and federal agencies within the Tahoe Basin.

East Shore Express Hours and Costs:

•Daily service between Incline Village and Sand Harbor from June 15th to Sept 3rd.
•Proposed Parking at the old Incline elementary school. With two overflow lots at other locations, including the new Incline elementary school.
•Service every 20 minutes from 9 am to 6 pm.
• $3 round-trip cash fare for passengers with a reduced $1.50 cash fare for children 12 and under, seniors and disabled passengers. Fare includes free entry into Sand Harbor.
•Buses will access a bus only entrance at Sand Harbor to avoid the congestion at the entrance, and will drop passengers off at the visitor center near the main beach.

Safety Improvements to complement the East Shore Express

•NDOT installing new “No Parking” signs to create a clearly defined 1.5 mile “No Parking Zone” near Sand Harbor starting from Memorial Point heading south to Sand Harbor to a location 1⁄2 mile south of Sand Harbor’s southern boundary.
•NHP, WCSO, and NV State Parks officials are planning to increase efforts to enforce the “No Parking Zone” and keep pedestrians out of the travel lanes.

IMS Junior Boosters

The Incline Middle School parent organization, the Junior Boosters, would like to welcome all IES parents to their last meeting of the school year on Wednesday May 16, 9:15-10:15 am. In the meeting parents will get a good overview of Junior Boosters activities throughout the year and will have an opportunity to ask questions. IMS office personnel can direct parents to the meeting room. We hope to see you!

Grade 8 Car Wash – Sunday May 6

Help this year’s IMS 8th grade class raise money for their party celebrating their promotion to high school.

Get your car (or cars) washed on Sunday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chevron station and make a donation so this great class can have the party they deserve!
